Buenos Noches!

Wow, i've survived 3 weeks of camp already!   It's going really great right now.  The kids are older, so they don't need constant suprivision.   We have instructional periods now, where we teach them an outdoor skill, and they pass off different levels.  I'm teaching rock climbing level one this week.  That's basically how to put ona harness and helmet, tie a rethreaded figure eight knot, and up and down climb a 5.3 (pretty easy) rock route.   However, this week is still sorta complicated.  This week is called NCC week.  That means, international students from Mexico, Hong Cong, and several other places, are here to learn english better, and go to camp.  Try trying to communicate how to rappell to someone who can't speak english very well, extremely complicated (I had 2 almost do face-plants just this morning).  But, it's nice being around Spanish again actually.  I enjoy hearing it.  I would really like to be able to speak in fluently someday.  I'm always going around to them going "Como se dese _____" (that means "how do you say...whatever I want to say).  Anyways, I'm getting ready to eat lunch.  Just thought I'd pop on a do an update.  Hope everyone's well!  Adios!

ah the llittle things in life

Today was the first day of camp. I SURVIVED! We have 5 to 11 year olds this week. So, I did the Giant Swing with them today; I could basically pull them up by myself they were so light. I did pick up several new skills yesterday--number one was directing cars where to park (it was really fun!); number two, picking lice out of kids heads. It was great....ok no. On the first day of camp here we do lice checks for all the kids. BINGO! I got a head full the FIRST TRY! Gotta love it. I don't get to see Dave as often, he's working with the LIT's, that's been really hard on me. But, God will see me through it. I prayed that He would help me love camp and Dave, while not being depressed that I couldn't see Dave. So, that's what I'm working towards. Dave's leaving on a 5 day canoe trip tomorrow morning at 5 a.m., so I guess I'll tell ya how the whole "relying on God" goes throughout the week! Well, I can hear the kids screaming for dinner, so I gotta GO! I'm SOOO glad their bedtime is 9 A.M.!!! I'm GOING TO BED EARLY TONIGHT...WUHOOOOOO!
