LAST DAY!

Today is the LAST DAY of CAMP!!!!!!! It is sort of sad, but mostly GREAT! I'll miss everyone--but like i keep saying, i'm ready to be home. I'm tired, and I'm SO stressed about the packing thing. I have two suitcases already packed, unfortionately, there's more stuff to pack. I can only take 2 suitcases and a carry-on on the plane, so, Dave and I are trying to work stuff out. He's either going to buy a bigger bag and put all of his stuff and my extra stuff in it, or we're just gonna have to mail it. Anyways, I have ONE more climbing club class to teach....so i gotta get to it. Update ya when it's all over!

Sick once again

I'm sick, my head is stuffed up, I can't breathe through my nose, I'm dizzy, and I have absolutely NO energy at all! The worse part is, I'm at camp, and everybody (but my extremely loving boyfriend who dropped everything the first time he heard I was sick) is too busy to care or at leaste do anything about it. I just want to cry, or watch a chick flick and veg on the couch. But no, I'm going to go help with the big game, then prepare the snack, because I have to, and there's nobody else to do it (or so they say). I'm getting tired typing this, I need to not type anymore---goodnight.

The good, the sad, the ugly

The GOOD PART!!!---ONE MORE WEEK LEFT...WUHOOO...OH YEA!!! That's the happy part of the day--I'M COMIN HOME MUM AND DADDY!!!

The sad part...Scott left today. Scott was one of the LDP's I spend 10 months with. I got really close to him, and I count him as a great friend; a trusted friend. He just told me this morning that he was leaving, he was suppose to be here for another week! I had a couple of hours to get use to the idea, and then he was gone. I cried SO hard! That was right before sign-ups started for this week of camp, and then Glenda(the secretary) comes up and says, "Leigh do you think you could stop crying and run the tuck(snack) shop?" Yeah, she's a real softy--but I almost laughed because it was SO typical for Glenda. But anyways, Scott leaving really got me thinking about all the OTHER LDP leaving next week! Some of them, mind you, I won't care, but several of them I consider my best friends, and I would trust them with my life. So, leaving those people behind, after you've seen them almost every day for a whole year, super hard. I'm gonna cry my eyes out.

The ugly part---was me after I had cried for a half an hour today--maybe THAT'S why very few people bought stuff!!!

Teenager again

For one day I'm going to revert back to teenage overdramatics. So here goes.

Why do I feel like I'm being singled out. A person in authority came to me today and told me something that "so and so said" and they assumed was true (as usual in the authority figures here at Medeba). They take gossip that was told to them as "gospel." And,....it hurt very badly, and it pissed me off SOOO BADLY! The ONE person I loathed this WHOLE YEAR comes and tells them something they don't like about me, and they come to me and tell me I was wrong. The ONE PERSON who deserves no respect WHATSOEVER from me, or anyone else in LDP this year, gets heard (and believed)! They don't have the DECENCY to come to ME and tell ME what problem they have with me OH NO GOD FORBID they go to other people. Funny I think, that that one person always got on EVERYBODY'S case about talking behind each other's backs, and they go and do it!!!!!!! I THINK IT'S HILARIOUS! I want to hate them, I want to yell at them and tell them how much they really really suck! And how much their lil goals in life to do what they think they're "called" to do, they aren't so good at, and people don't like them! I want to RUIN THEIR LIFE! And so, I told this to God, yup, down right yelled at Him! Told him I hated this person, I wanted to be bitter, and AND....I don't know what to do. I just cried. I sat on my bed and cried. I want to tell people who it is, and just gossip about them too....but what good would that do.

And so my adult side kix in.

It would prove that I am nothing, and I have no decency myself. So, I will talk to them personally. I will do it calmly and cooly, and I will pray before it. And I will let it go. Bitterness is only going to hurt me, not them, they don't even know I'm upset. Now I'm drained. I'm probably still going to cry, and think "it's not fair," but I'll do it the right way, and I'll stop acting like a child, and I'll try to improve on where even "that person" said I need to. Because, that's what God wants me to do. Thank you God, for letting me vent, because You love me, and You're here for me, even when I'm mad at You.

The future parents

Dave's parents sent me a postcard from Dublin, Ireland today....it was SO NICE! I loved it. AND, they called to talk to Dave, but he wasn't here, so they talked to me! Sometimes I have to concentrate really hard on what they're saying, because i can't understand them, but I love the Irish accent. I always wanted to marry a guy w/ an accent! Now I get to! I love being able to be a part of his family already, and I love that his parents really like me (I was a little nervous about that). I love family, mine, his; my family is the reason I am the person I am today, and it's very important to me.
I passed on "blogging" to Leigh Sinden (a staff member here at good ol Medeba), now she's TOTALLY addicted....blog on Comp ho!

Moose vs. Canoe

Just a quick tidbit of info about the little podunk town I'm in right now. I found this amusing. There is only 2 radio stations around here, and they are called Canoe FM and Moose FM. Yup....that's what I said. I mean, what is the first thing you think when you hear those names? I think "hillbilly music.....or maybe REALLY old country." Oh dear. In a war against the 2 radio stations (which sounds very similar I might add)....who would win? The canoe...or the moose? The question stands.

Girl stuff

It has become a tradition this summer, that with every night off I have (Tuesdays & Saturdays), I go to the Dunnings to watch chick flicks. Yesterday wasn't unlike this, except we decided to go to Kinmount theatre to watch "The Princess Diaries 2--the royal engagement." It was pretty good, lots of girlie cheesy stuff, but, that was expected. Girl movies always make you feel like mush afterwards. Your emotions are higher, you want to have a boyfriend (I do! I love you Dave!), and you want to get married....NOW! But, then you get to gossip about boys with the other girls you went with, and talk about how cute the guys were in the movie, and just enjoy your girl night (which I did immensely). Well, then we popped by Subway, and I got my usual (a six inch Cold Cut Trio on wheat bread--it's all your fault Daddy). Then, Glenda (Candice's mom) and I decided to watch Hildalgo, another really good movie. A bit of a switch from Princess Diaries, but still about a horse (girls are suppose to love horses I think), and a nice looking guy (Viggo Mortenson-the king at the end of Lord of the Rings, the 3rd one). Then Dave came over and watched it with us, and that made it even better, because I got to spend time with him when I normally wouldn't have. THEN, to end of the day, Dave and I went back to the lounge, and read the last chapter of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets together (we're reading all of them together), it was a good day. And that, was a lovely Day, now I'm off to church! I'll be home in 2 weeks guys! Keep checkin up on me!

Week 5

Well we're going into week 5, sorta strange. See, where I'm from, school goes back in the begining of August. HERE, it doesn't go back till September! So, my home summer is over, and here in good 'ol Canadia, it's only halfway through. Now, as a child who is still in school, I would be pleased with this. However, as a person who has been away from home for almost a year now, I wish it was over right about....NOW! I love the climbing club that I do during the afternoons--we go off-site climbing (on real live cliffs) 3 days a week, and we get to teach them all sorts of cool stuff! I love it! BUT, as much as I love these kids, I love my family more. Enough with the whining.
We're into what's called "Venture 2" this week, our camp theme is "show bizz." I intend to have an afro all week, it should be fun! I don't really know WHAT that has to do w/ show bizz, but, my hair is short and EXTREMELY curly, an afro is only a comb away...lol...so I'm gonna do it.
Well, I'm on for lice checks again tonight, I'm hoping to bow out after the checks and call home and such. I can't wait to hear your voices Mum and Dad! Do you guys even check this? Ok, here's the deal, just to let me know who reads this. WHOEVER READS THIS ENTRY HAS TO REPLY....i want to know who i'm dealing with here, and i BETTER be hearing from ALL of my family! Anyways, I best be going, those lice ya know, ish, ish ish ish.
